Job Title:

Pet Groomer - Key Responsibilities Include Bathing, Brushing and Trimming

About the Role:

This is a key position within our organization where you will be responsible for preparing, bathing and finishing pets using humane practices and minimizing pet stress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trim nails, brush teeth and express anal glands in a safe manner and as trained.

  • Bathe, dry and brush out pets as instructed, using the correct products, tools and handling techniques.

  • Finish pets with a bow, cologne or coat gloss as requested by owner or supervisor.

  • Keep bathing stations clean between bathing, tools cleaned and ready for the next use.

  • Promptly attend to water spills and other safety risks, mopping or cleaning up as needed.

  • Ask for assistance immediately if a pet demonstrates unusual stress.

  • Clean and disinfect tubs, holding cages, dryers and tools before each shift ends.

  • Inform reception about pets that are ready for pick up.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

This job requires long periods of standing, bending, twisting and lifting up to 10kg on a fairly frequent basis.
