About the Role

This role will play a crucial part in crafting an assortment of sushi rolls, preparing various types of fish for use in sushi preparation, packaging finished products attractively, and monitoring stock levels. As a skilled sushi artisan, you will ensure the quality and freshness of all sushi products by following food safety standards and regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and craft various sushi dishes according to recipes and customer preferences.
  • Cutting, slicing, and filleting various types of fish for use in sushi preparation.
  • Rollo sushi rice with seaweed, vegetables, and seafood to create an assortment of sushi rolls.
  • Packaging finished products attractively for display in refrigerated cases or take-away containers.
  • Monitoring stock levels and liaising with management to place orders for ingredients as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a sushi chef or sushi artisan.
  • Thorough knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques.
  • Ability to create visually appealing and delicious sushi dishes.
  • Excellent knife skills and precision in food preparation.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
