About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Engineering Consultant to join our team at Arup. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the delivery of technically excellent fire safety outcomes tailored to our clients' needs.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the team to develop fire strategies, analyse design performance, and document outcomes to assist in project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working under minimal direct guidance within a defined area of responsibility, the Fire Engineering Consultant will be responsible for specific parts of an external design project.
  • The role will also involve authoring non-standard letters, reports, and other documentation as required.
  • The Fire Engineering Consultant will provide detailed technical input across a broad range of projects within the fire engineering business and related areas.
  • Assisting in the preparation of fee proposals for small/medium-sized projects is also a key aspect of this role.
  • Liaising with other disciplines within the region, the Fire Engineering Consultant will provide particular expertise on fire engineering as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, specialising in Fire Engineering or a similar area.
  • Fully aware of all legislative requirements and other regulations governing Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
  • Registered with the relevant engineering authority body.
  • Relevant industry experience in Fire Engineering within a consulting business environment is also essential.
