Job Description

  • The Cisco Unified Communications Specialist will provide technical expertise in the area of IT communications and security, working across a multitude of networking and security products to plan, install, configure and support customer environments.
  • This role requires someone with a strong focus on SIP and IP Voice technologies within core network environments, and experience in end-to-end delivery, design, implementation, testing, documentation, compliance, and operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, deploy, test and optimise unified network ecosystems.
  • Design, develop, configure, analyse and integrate network infrastructures.
  • Monitor, evaluate and analyse network activity and capacity to ensure network and systems availability and their optimal performance.
  • Conduct assessments of existing network systems and make suggestions regarding improvements and upgrades.
  • Supervise the installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimisation of all network services, computer systems, equipment, and devices.
  • Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting and fault-finding within complex unified network and security solutions.
  • Document internal procedures related to network administration and maintenance.
  • Work towards establishing a 'trusted advisor' status with technical personnel.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role within the IT industry.
  • Any of the following certifications: CCIE Voice or R/S or Security, CCNA, CCNP, CCVP.
  • Experience with WAN optimisation and Load balancing technologies.
  • SIP interconnect guidelines.
  • Cisco UCCX/E, CUCM, Unity and Call Manager.
  • VoIP.
  • Voice streaming technologies (PABX).
  • Video streaming technologies (Polycom, Cisco Video Conferencing).
  • Windows, Unix and/or Linux.

Desired Skills

  • Powershell Scripting.
  • CCSA, CCSE or CISSP desirable but not essential.
  • Pre-Sales/Design and Implementation experience.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft technologies.
  • General knowledge of VMware technologies.
  • Network Design and architecture.
  • Network function virtualisation VMware NSX.

Salary and Benefits

  • The salary for this position is approximately $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Attractive daily rates according to experience.
  • Likelihood of extension.
  • Live locally – Sydney offices.
