Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our client in Brisbane's CBD on a 6-month temporary basis, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to work in the back end and focus on details, systems, and updates related to legislation and risk.

About the Role
  • Assist in implementing and reviewing the Technical Services Health and Safety Strategy as part of broader requirements.
  • Contribute to developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety plans, procedures, systems, and processes to support effective business outcomes.
  • Support auditing schedule development and implementation to facilitate continual improvement of the Technical Services HSEMS.
  • Develop statistical reports on HSEMS performance and associated projects to facilitate management review and improvement.
  • Understand and incorporate project and operational risk assessment processes into management plans and facilitate workshops to characterise relevant risks and controls.
  • Contribute to health and safety program development and delivery to support management and staff in meeting legislative compliance and strategic objectives.
  • Review training needs analysis for the Business Unit, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure its ongoing effectiveness.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to influence and contribute to the work health and safety agenda.
  • Ensure the Technical Services HSEMS is developed in compliance with relevant legislation where required.
About the Individual
  • A relevant Certificate IV, Diploma, or degree in WHS/OHS is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in training and assessment is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of WHS legislation and its application.
  • Experience in a similar safety/training role, with a focus on systems/risk management and processes.
  • Government experience is highly regarded but not required.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the location of Brisbane CBD.
