Project Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Management Specialist with strong background in project management, cost control, scheduling, and risk management. The ideal candidate will support cost control, scheduling, and monitoring functions to ensure the smooth flow of project operations.

Oversight of project schedules, cost control, change management, and project management activities is essential to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. This includes preparation of comprehensive management reports, project documentation, and technical audits. Maintenance of accurate records of project progress and performance indicators is also crucial.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and team coordination abilities. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies is also required. Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices would be beneficial, as would experience in infrastructure and mining projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementation of project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring timely completion of projects while meeting quality and budget requirements.
  • Monitoring of project progress, identifying potential risks and issues, and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize delays and costs.
  • Preparation of detailed cost analyses, development of cost estimates, and management of project budgets to ensure financial compliance.
  • Development and maintenance of strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Resolution of delay claims and management of construction disputes according to international practices.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • CPEng / RPEQ certification or eligibility to apply within 12 months of joining.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in project control and cost engineering roles, preferably in infrastructure and mining projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Strong communication and team coordination abilities, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders.
