About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Practitioner to join our team at Lavarack Health Centre, providing primary medical care to Defence personnel across Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Practitioner to work in a dynamic environment and make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
- Form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
- Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that will support their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.
- Provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.
Requirements
- Current unconditional and unrestricted General registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR, Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
- Minimum of 2 years' full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent), GPT Registrar rotations are counted.
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
