Horse Handler

As a compassionate and empathetic individual, we are seeking an accomplished Horse Handler to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of families and their pets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting deceased horses and pets from designated locations with dignity and respect. They will operate cremation and ashes processing equipment efficiently, navigate daily runs effectively, and maintain high standards of vehicle and workspace cleanliness. The individual will also return ashes to clients and vet clinics, providing exceptional service and communicating empathetically with clients during sensitive moments.

• Collect deceased horses and pets from designated locations with sensitivity and care
• Operate cremation and ashes processing equipment with precision and attention to detail
• Navigate daily runs efficiently, ensuring timely completion and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
• Return ashes to clients and vet clinics with compassion and professionalism
• Communicate effectively with clients during challenging situations, providing emotional support and guidance when needed

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines
• Hold a valid Heavy Rigid Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence, with experience in operating heavy machinery
• Able to lift up to 25kg and perform manual labor tasks safely and efficiently
• Confident reversing a trailer (similar to a horse float), with excellent spatial awareness and navigational skills
• Available to work weekends and occasional weekdays, with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules
• Emotionally resilient and respectful in grief-sensitive environments, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure
