About Parklife Metro:
In collaboration with the NSW Government, Parklife Metro is engaged in a groundbreaking metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney. Our consortium includes esteemed partners such as Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild, all dedicated to enhancing metro rail capabilities to deliver this pivotal project under a Public-Private Partnership framework, significantly boosting the economy of Western Sydney.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager for the Bradfield/Aerotropolis initiative. This role is crucial in ensuring the project's successful execution within the stipulated timeline, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on planning and design feasibility, material selection, and construction methodologies to ensure project success and adherence to best practices.
  • Oversee the operational elements of project delivery, ensuring efficient utilization of systems and processes throughout all project phases.
  • Implement site-specific management plans effectively.
  • Facilitate the flow of documentation among Engineers, Consultants, and Subcontractors, ensuring all parties operate with the most current information.
  • Ensure that construction activities meet or exceed performance targets regarding time, cost, and quality.
  • Monitor project progress and report significant changes to the Area Manager, proposing necessary corrective actions.
  • Manage cost control measures to ensure alignment with budgetary performance targets.
  • Identify and assess risks and opportunities within the project scope.
  • Foster team commitment towards achieving or surpassing project budget goals.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports.
  • Track costs against the budget and evaluate risk item allowances.
  • Analyze daily costings, identifying trends and patterns.
  • Review and recommend payments for subcontractor and supplier progress, contributing to cost recovery and variation claims.
  • Negotiate final subcontractor prices in collaboration with the Area Manager, ensuring formal agreements are established prior to site work commencement.
  • Conduct team meetings to promote collaboration and clarity.
  • Lead and support site staff in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.
  • Organize regular site meetings to enhance understanding and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Project Management.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the construction sector.
  • Prior experience in civil works, including utilities, landscaping, roads, and services.
