Diesel Fitter Job at Weipa Mine

Are you looking for a Diesel Fitter role in a diverse operations environment with access to a class-leading fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Diesel Fitter to join our team at the Weipa mine, where you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of machines.

About the Role
  • Preventative maintenance and availability: You will work closely with our operations team to identify and implement proactive measures to ensure optimal machine performance and reduce downtime.
  • Scheduled servicing, change outs and repairs: As a Diesel Fitter, you will perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and major overhauls to ensure our equipment runs smoothly.
  • Breakdown diagnostic support: When issues arise, you will use your technical expertise to diagnose problems quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and getting our operations back on track.
  • Contribute towards any improvements or initiatives relating to productivity or costs: Your knowledge and experience will help us identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving initiatives that benefit both our operations and bottom line.
Requirements
  • Experience working on various heavy earthmoving equipment: With extensive experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery, you understand the importance of precision and attention to detail.
  • Australian recognised trade completion certificate: Your qualifications demonstrate your commitment to staying up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
  • High level of technical skills on a diverse fleet of equipment: Your proficiency in working with different types of heavy machinery will enable you to adapt quickly to new situations and challenges.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting / diagnostic skills: Your ability to think critically and methodically will help you identify complex problems and develop effective solutions.

We estimate the salary for this position to be in the range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
