Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Culinary Specialist, your primary focus will be on the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes to ensure an exceptional experience for guests. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining consistent food production quality in accordance with Hilton's high standards.
- Executing tasks efficiently and within designated timeframes.
- Contributing to kitchen profitability through effective management of food costs.
- Providing assistance to the kitchen team as needed.
- Preparing and presenting dishes that meet company guidelines for quality.
- Ensuring cleanliness and organization in all work areas to prevent cross-contamination.
- Preparing all necessary ingredients for relevant menus.
- Supporting other departments as required and fostering positive working relationships.
- Reporting any maintenance, hygiene, or safety concerns.
- Adhering to hotel security, fire safety regulations, and all health and food safety laws.
- Being aware of departmental objectives and striving to meet them as part of the team.
- Meeting all health and hygiene standards.
- Demonstrating environmental awareness in all tasks.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for the Junior Culinary Specialist position will embody the following attributes:
- Prior experience as a Junior Chef or Culinary Apprentice.
- Completion of NVQ Level 1.
- A positive and proactive attitude.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
- Proven teamwork skills and the ability to follow directions.
- A genuine passion for learning and advancing in the culinary and hospitality field.
- Certification in basic food hygiene.
- A strong enthusiasm for food and culinary arts.
- Completion of an accredited culinary training program or apprenticeship.
- Experience in multitasking within a high-standard environment.
Preferred Qualifications
It would be advantageous for candidates to possess:
- NVQ Level 2 certification.
