Lawyer Specializing in Defendant Institutional Tort Claims

We are seeking a talented lawyer to join our team in defendant institutional tort claims. As a key member of our general insurance team, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support and representation to our clients.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of defendant institutional tort claims from inception to resolution with adequate supervision.
- Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and preparing various legal documents.
- Analysing complex legal issues, reviewing case material, gathering evidence, and assessing liability and damages.
- Collaborating with senior lawyers to develop and execute defence strategies.
- Attending negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Providing ongoing legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring compliance with client service standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor of Laws or equivalent qualification and a current practising certificate.
- Minimum 1 year's post-admission experience in general insurance matters.
- Strong knowledge of Australian tort law, civil procedure, and relevant legislation.
- Confidence to deal directly with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with experts in multiple fields.
