Job Overview

This is a Mechanical Maintenance position that involves diagnosing and conducting corrective maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment with minimal downtime in a maritime environment.

The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification as a Mechanical or Hydraulic Fitter, strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills, and proficiency in CMMS systems and general computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and conduct corrective maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment
  • Perform tasks in accordance with maintenance instructions and maintain accurate records in the maintenance management system
  • Inspect work to ensure it meets all quality specifications and standards
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment as required
Requirements:
  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical or Hydraulic Fitter
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Confident in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to assemble and fit mechanical parts and equipment
  • Ability to inspect work to ensure it meets specifications
  • Experience in recording and documenting results and tolerances
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
