Avionics Operations Manager Job Overview

The Avionics Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the successful operation of an avionics and electromechanical workshop. This position is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through the highest standards of avionics repairs, customer service, communication, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

This key leadership role leads a team to achieve industry-leading avionics component maintenance services while ensuring planned operational output for the business. Key responsibilities include hands-on repair activities, product release, and quality assurance checks to maintain aviation standards.

  • Lead a team to achieve operational, quality, and safety goals, managing direct reports and sub-leadership responsibilities.
  • Interface with diverse customers on highly technical avionics products and service models.
  • Drive continuous improvement on key operational metrics, including safety performance, warranties, quality escapes, on-time delivery, turn-around time, productivity, work-in-progress, aging work-in-progress, and champion the implementation of lean operating systems.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Diploma level in a related aviation field.
  • Experience in program or avionics operational management.
  • Knowledge of aircraft regulations.
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Certificate IV in Trainer/Assessor, formal supervision qualification, lean qualifications, and flexibility to work across multiple time zones.
