We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Flood Modeller to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our Water Resources group, you will play a crucial role in helping us deliver practical solutions to complex flood-related challenges.
Our team's work is diverse and exciting, with opportunities to work on projects like catchment-wide flood studies, floodplain risk management, and flood assessments for major linear infrastructure projects.
- Conduct flood risk assessments, including hydrological and hydraulic modelling, floodplain mapping, and analysis of flood impacts.
- Perform detailed investigations of flood events, assess flood mitigation measures, and provide recommendations for flood risk reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop flood management plans and policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
As a Flood Modeller, you will have the opportunity to work with advanced software and tools for flood modelling, data analysis, and visualization, as well as participate in meaningful consultation with flood-affected communities.
Key Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Have 0-5 years of professional experience in flood engineering, flood modelling, floodplain management, or a similar role.
- Be proficient in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (e.g., TUFLOW), GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), and other relevant software applications.
