We are seeking an experienced and skilled Centre Cook to join our team at the Archdiocese of Brisbane. As a Centre Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing healthy, balanced, and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children from babies to kindergarten age.
Key Responsibilities:- Meal Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional guidelines set by the centre, taking into account the dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences of children.
- Kitchen Management: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Manage kitchen supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with staff to create meal plans and menus, and engage with children in a friendly and positive manner, promoting healthy eating habits.
- Event Participation: Participate in centre events and activities as required.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or similar setting, such as Aged Care.
- Knowledge and Certification: Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary requirements, and certification in Food Handling and Safety.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent organizational and time management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a positive and energetic attitude.
