About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Works Specialist to join our team at METKA EGN Australia Pty Ltd. As an Electrical Works Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our electrical teams with coordinating site electrical works and assisting in the design, implementation, and administration of records systems and related information services.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Works:

  • Assist in the coordination of electrical self-performing works on site, including the planning, sourcing, and management of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Assist in the onboarding of labor hire, ensuring paperwork/qualifications are received and uploaded into the relevant system and site inductions are complete.
  • Assist the Electrical Supervisor(s) to monitor and ensure labor hire works are completed to schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Assist the management team with conducting field inspections of the work in progress and share any deviations or deficiencies with Construction Manager, Site Supervisors, and the Quality Team.
  • Assist in the coordination of digging trenches, footings, and other civil works in preparation for Electrical installation.
  • Assist in the coordination and documentation of drawings, plans, and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry.
  • Assist Electrical Engineers and Site Supervisors in the documentation of electrical installations and circuitry on substations, switchgear, cabling systems, and motor control systems.
  • Assist in the estimation of materials costs and quantities.
  • Assist with fetching and carrying tools and materials.
  • Assist in the coordination of erecting solar panel support frames.
  • Assist site management and supervisors in the coordination of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Assist Site Supervisors with the inspection of designs for quality control, report findings, and provide recommendations.
  • Assist Site Supervision with reviewing site conditions and relaying back to the Design team.
  • Assist site management and supervisors in the coordination of adjustments and replacement of broken electronic components and circuitry.
  • Assist Site Supervisors and the design team in coordinating the clarification of design details of experimental electronic units.

Records:

  • Evaluate and preserve EPC records for administrative, historical, legal, evidential, and other purposes.
  • Prepare record-keeping systems, indexes, guides, and procedures for archival research and for the retention and destruction of records.
  • Assist EPC team in designing and revising MRES record forms.
  • Manage the organization's central records systems.
  • Analyze the record-keeping needs of organizations and translate these needs into record management systems.
  • Maintain computerized and other record management systems and record forms, and advise on their usage.
  • Control access to confidential information, and recommend codes of practice and procedures for accessing records.
  • Develop record cataloguing, coding, and classification systems, and monitor their use.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Trade or tertiary qualification is preferred, with experience within energy, construction, mining, resources, or infrastructure or related Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience in a site-based role with an understanding of how construction sites function (specifically the electrical works) e.g. as a Trade Assistant (preferably electrical) and/or Project Administrator/Coordinator.
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate and well-organized records.
  • Extensive experience as an administrator.
  • Renewable industry experience (Solar, Wind, Hydrogen) preferred but not mandatory.
