About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and manage a team of auditors in our Financial Statement Audit Services Group (FSASG). As a Director, Financial Audit, you will be responsible for delivering complex, moderate to high-risk, and strategically important audit services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team to deliver audit services
  • Exercise strategic resource management and allocate work in line with team priorities
  • Plan and investigate audits and design audit strategies
  • Prepare audit reports and manage audit projects from end to end
  • Ensure quality control and formulate strategic solutions, operational plans, and work plans
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the Australian Government sector and represent the ANAO
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team through sound leadership and review staff performance
Requirements
  • Exceptional accounting and auditing skills
  • Detailed knowledge of financial statements and related audit risk-based methodologies and practices
  • Demonstrated research, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate complex information for a non-technical audience
  • Strong track record in project management and effective communication skills
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Experience in managing and leading a team, providing ongoing guidance and support
Desirable Qualifications
  • Accounting or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • CA or CPA certification
