Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Continuous Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing Java software for distributed, highly available systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering concepts and methodologies, with a focus on secure solutions in the financial services sector. You will be working on mission-critical transaction processing systems, and your expertise will be essential in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise for payment applications, including secure transaction processing systems.
  • Plan, design, and develop technical solutions to meet business requirements, adhering to Mastercard standards and best practices.
  • Lead day-to-day system development and maintenance activities, ensuring high-quality solutions and meeting service level agreements.
  • Perform system maintenance, incident problem management, and root cause analysis to ensure system stability and security.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customer-reported issues, proposing solutions that meet customer requirements and architectural and business needs.
  • Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.
  • Ensure adequate test coverage, including unit testing, system testing, and performance testing.
  • Perform quality inspections and walkthroughs throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field, with a focus on secure solutions in the financial services sector.
  • Broad understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a matrix-based, diverse, and geographically distributed project team.
  • Corporate security responsibility, including adherence to Mastercard's security policies and practices.
