English Department Leadership Position for a Progressive School

We are seeking an exceptional leader to head our English Department at Comet Bay College, a modern innovative Independent Public School catering for Years 7 to 12 students in the vibrant community of Secret Harbour. Located one kilometre from the coast, our college boasts state-of-the-art facilities that include specialist science laboratories, lecture theatres, fitness centres, and modern industrial food studios.

The successful applicant will possess high-level leadership skills, with experience in developing and implementing effective teaching and learning practices. They will be responsible for providing direction and purpose to staff, building team capacity, and promoting a culture of positive quality learning experiences for all students.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Curriculum
  • Developing and implementing curriculum frameworks aligned with the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) requirements;
  • Monitoring and evaluating student progress through National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA);
  • Providing professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their teaching skills and promote excellence in educational outcomes;
Instruction
  • Designing and delivering high-quality teaching programs that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities;
  • Implementing assessment and feedback models that support student growth and achievement;
  • Moderating and refining teaching practices to ensure alignment with school goals and policies;
