About the Role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse to join our team at Ngaanyatjarra Health Service, providing care to residents in our 18-bed Residential Aged Care facility in Kungkarrangkalpa, Wanarn community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to consumers residing in the Aged Care facility, ensuring their comfort, privacy, dignity, and cultural preferences are respected.
  • Assist residents to meet daily living needs and promote independence, communication, and social interaction.
  • Support consumer rights, interests, cultural, and spiritual needs in a non-judgmental manner.
  • Initiate and coordinate care for patients with complex health problems, ensuring all work and care are carried out ethically and within the framework of Ngaanyatjarra Health Service.
  • Respond to consumer assistance requests in a timely and effective manner.
  • Encourage the development of relationships with others within the community, promoting a harmonious environment.
  • Adhere to legislative requirements, NHS policies and procedures, Infection Control Guidelines, and medication guidelines and protocols.
  • Complete all documentation according to NHS policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.
  • Willingness and capacity to work with a multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge and commitment to cultural safety in care delivery.
  • Minimum of three years experience in the delivery of Aged Care Services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge and commitment to Quality improvement and Clinical risk management.
  • Commitment to WHS and Infection Control principles.
  • Ability to work in a remote area.
  • Current manual drivers license.
  • WA Working with Children Check.
  • Current National Police Clearance or the ability to obtain.
  • Ability to travel regional, remote, and interstate on unsealed roads by 4WD or by light aircraft.
