South Australia Procurement Specialist

The Senior Procurement Adviser plays a pivotal role in the execution of South Australia's most significant logistical events, including the state election. This position is responsible for providing expert advice and support to ECSA business units, reviewing and/or managing high-value, complex procurements, and developing strategic procurement opportunities within South Australian Government Procurement Framework and policy parameters.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing timely guidance and assistance to branches commensurate to value and complexity of procurement needs.
- Reviewing and/or managing higher-value, more complex procurements and whole-of-ECSA contracts.
- Providing contract management services for nominated ECSA contracts by monitoring performance against KPIs and implementing remedial actions where necessary.
- Developing and communicating subject-matter expertise with respect to best practices in market approaches, tendering and contracts, procurement options and strategies.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline delegations and procurement approval and reporting processes, applying a risk-management approach.
- Maintaining and communicating up-to-date policy and process documentation, advice, hints and tips, and procurement-related templates.
- Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, particularly the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and influence others in a diplomatic and professional manner are essential to this role.
- This role requires a temporary term basis up to 18 December 2026.
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Extensive out-of-normal working hours duty may be required during the period of an election.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Adviser to make a positive contribution to democracy and play a key role in the delivery of one of South Australia's largest logistical events.
