Disability Support Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide support and assistance to people with disabilities. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and providing high-quality support services that align with their goals.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in providing support and care for individuals with disabilities, and will be able to communicate effectively with people with disabilities, their families, and support networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Providing direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities according to their individualised plans.
  2. Assisting clients with daily activities while promoting independence and community participation.
  3. Supporting clients in developing life skills, including personal care, household tasks, and social interactions.
  4. Implementing strategies to address challenging behaviours and promote positive outcomes for clients.
  5. Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on client progress and any incidents or concerns.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in providing support and care for individuals with disabilities.
  2. Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its processes.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with people with disabilities, their families, and support networks.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of person-centred approaches to disability support.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
  6. Capability to assist with daily living activities and personal care tasks.
  7. Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the rights of people with disabilities.
