Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia beBeeCounsellor Full time $62,512 - $147,108
Empowering Aboriginal Youth through Healing and Cultural Connection

Our organization is seeking a passionate and dedicated Aboriginal professional to support children aged 10-17 who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour. You will work directly with these young people and their families, providing therapeutic interventions and culturally responsive support that enhances safety, restores relationships, and promotes healing and wellbeing.

Our Approach

Our early intervention approach focuses on holistic outcomes, including ceasing harmful behaviours, strengthening cultural identity, and fostering community connections. We prioritize Aboriginal children in out-of-home care and ensure cultural safety is at the heart of our work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering assessment, counselling, and case coordination in partnership with another clinician.
  • Providing cultural advice and consultation to ensure our service embeds Aboriginal ways of working and cultural safety.
  • Engaging with Aboriginal communities and services to support strong, culturally appropriate care.
About Our Team

We are a small, close-knit team with staff based in Tamworth and Newcastle, including four Aboriginal and six non-Aboriginal team members. Our work is grounded in collective practice - we review cases together, work in pairs, and provide mutual support to achieve the best outcomes for families.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Work with eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or bachelor degree or higher in Psychology with current full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia or bachelor degree or higher in Counselling with registration with the appropriate professional body.
