This role will play a key part in enhancing the City's services and culture, working closely with the team to achieve this goal. The position requires extensive experience in assessing a wide range of development applications and the ability to operate effectively in a political and commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Present high-quality written reports and provide verbal advice to design excellence, local, and regional planning panels.
- Act as a mentor to junior planners and may have the opportunity to act up as Team Leaders as needed.
- Project manage pre-lodgements and development applications in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage and act in appeals in the NSW Land and Environment Court.
- Contribute to improved customer service and organisational effectiveness.
- Ensure cost recovery of services is implemented in accordance with Council's Fees and Charges schedule.
- Build professional and productive partnerships within Council and external stakeholders.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in statutory or strategic town planning or allied professional experience and an understanding of the NSW planning system.
- Hold a Degree in Town Planning or equivalent.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.

The City of Parramatta offers an attractive remuneration package from $117,832 to $129,758 plus 11.5% superannuation. In addition, the Council provides excellent employee benefits, including flexible work arrangements, paid parental leave, and access to learning and development opportunities.
