The Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute at UTS is inviting applications from highly motivated candidates for multiple PhD positions. This project focuses on artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and energy systems. The available research topics span several high-impact areas at the intersection of these fields:

  • Developing advanced AI-based methods for learning, optimization, and condition monitoring in battery and energy systems.
  • Creating AI-driven solutions for material engineering design, nanowire single photon detector development, quantum error correction, quantum control design, and quantum sensing.
  • Exploring the rapidly advancing field of quantum machine learning, which leverages quantum computing to accelerate traditional machine learning methods.
  • Investigating the estimation, control, and optimization of classical and quantum systems, with applications in power systems, quantum devices, and battery technologies.

All PhD positions are based at the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute, UTS, Sydney.
