Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our data engineering team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and scaling complex data systems using open-source technologies like Apache Kafka, Spark, Cassandra, Iceberg, and Trino.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data pipelines to support the entire Rokt ecosystem
  • Build bespoke solutions using open-source technologies as a hands-on engineer
  • Solve technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity
  • Proactively identify and propose improvements to the current system architecture
  • Act as both an engineer and system architect, researching and developing new theories and ways of working
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, ideally working with large amounts of data
  • Extensive experience with open-source data tooling like Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, etc.
  • Solid experience using Go, Python, or Scala is ideal, but any strong back-end experience is fine
  • Familiarity with complex, distributed systems and cloud-based infrastructure, including stateful services on Kubernetes, NoSQL databases, AWS, and/or GCP
  • Ability to turn ambiguity into clarity and be comfortable treading new ground
