We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Life Cycle Engineering Department. As a key member of the DDG 1000 Planning Yard Engineering team, you will provide functional mechanical engineering analysis and technical point of contact (TPOC) support for DDG 1000 Class Destroyers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing functional mechanical engineering analysis for the installation of shipalts onto DDG 1000 class ships. This includes supporting the update of associated databases and calculations, as well as configuration management of changes to piping and HVAC systems since new construction, for DDG 1000 distributive systems.

You will also specify new functional designs and design changes in support of Navy contracts, Ship Upgrades (SCDs), and special studies for DDG 1000 class ships. Additionally, you will work with customers (Navy, Installing Activities, Procurement, Contracts, Detail Design, and On-Site Design Representatives) to resolve technical issues, recommend changes, and maintain appropriate communications.

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required for this position. Engineer I: 0-1 years' experience; Engineer II: 1-3 years' experience required; Engineer III: 3+ years' experience required. Familiarity with shipboard or commercial pipe and vent systems is desired.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to organize, plan, and execute projects, and highly motivated with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in WINDOWS, Microsoft Excel, Word, and CAD (AutoCAD, Catia) software is preferred.
