About the Department of Justice and Community Safety

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is a government agency that aims to improve community safety, victim services, regulatory services, and crime prevention in Victoria.

Within the department, various functions are overseen including Aboriginal Justice, Victim Support, Justice Services, Family Violence, Justice Operations, Regional Services Network, Corrections, Youth Justice, Emergency Management, Police and Crime Prevention, Regulation, Corporate Services, Justice Coordination, and Workplace Safety Policy.

This includes strategic communications, human resource policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; safety and wellbeing; workplace relations; and employee conduct.
