**Teaching Opportunity in Secondary English Education**
This is an exciting role for a qualified and experienced educator to join our school community as a Secondary English Teacher.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
The role involves planning, preparation, and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
- Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
- Undertaking other classroom teaching-related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
- Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;
- Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills;
- Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs;
- Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth;
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, and using data to inform teaching practice;
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community;
- Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, and a commitment to ongoing professional learning and improvement.
Requirements:
- A degree in Education or a related field;
- A current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration;
- Experience in teaching English at the secondary level;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- A commitment to ongoing professional learning and improvement.
Desirable Qualities:
- Experience in mentoring or coaching colleagues;
- Experience in developing and implementing curriculum programs;
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
