Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart. As a key member of our hotel maintenance function, you will be responsible for managing all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the hotel's physical plant is well-maintained and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement energy conservation and economical facility operations.
  • Develop specifications and requirements for service contracts and administer such contracts to support building needs.
  • Oversee and direct the maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
