At our organization, we are looking for a talented Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting professional engineering work on relevant aspects of electrical systems, including secondary system design from concept development through to detailed design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct professional engineering work on relevant aspects of EHV/HV Secondary Systems – strategic planning and conceptual design.
  • Provide detailed design services in areas including Protection Detailed Design, Primary/Secondary Systems equipment specification and procurement, Grid metering, Power quality and high-speed monitoring installations, load flow, fault level and dynamic studies, network/data network architecture and configuration, control system detailed design and configuration, and communications systems.
  • Design and specify general AC/DC systems and distribution, power generation (including large-scale solar, wind and battery storage), and system integration considerations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in design, integration & coordination, installation & commissioning of electrical systems and services for high voltage power systems.
  • Understanding and knowledge of secondary system design from concept development through to detailed design; experience in design-for-construction environment or utility/engineering consultancy design.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Power System Protection and Automation software packages, equipment suppliers and products.
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement of performance, deliverables and efficiencies.
  • Positive approach to safety.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and excellent relationship-building, problem-solving, commercial and negotiation skills.
