Job Summary

This position plays a pivotal role in shaping operational excellence, ensuring the delivery of high-quality child-safe and exceptional educational services. As an Operations Officer, you will inform operational guidance, oversight, and support for Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Directors.

The ideal candidate will visit and guide services to build capacity and capability in providing high-quality educational experiences and environments for all children as defined in the NSW Early Years Framework, Belonging, Being, and Becoming, and the National Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Pedagogy and Practice Manager and Directors to ensure compliance with Regulations, NQF, and Child Safe Standards.
  • Support the Director in maintaining ongoing compliance with Regulations, NQF, and Child Safe Standards.
  • Collaborate with the service team in preparing the Quality Improvement Plan and the Self-Assessment, as well as collecting meaningful evidence to support exceeding themes.

Pedagogical Focus

  • Collaborate with the SCECS Pedagogy and Practice Manager to plan curriculum pedagogy and practice direction, building capacity among teachers and educators within our services.
  • Provide high-quality, consistent, and effective advice and coaching to support teaching and learning for all children.
  • Inspire, encourage, and guide Educational Leaders to work collaboratively with their teams to create inspiring and inclusive environments.
  • Deliver Quality Improvement Plan actions in a coaching and modeling capacity to build sustainable teaching and learning for all children.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with the Inclusion Support Officer to guide teams in implementing strategies identified in the Inclusion Support Plan.
  • Support, build, and maintain Reconciliation Action Plan initiatives by promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, languages, knowledge systems, and histories through culturally sensitive practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • University qualification as an Early Childhood Teacher
  • Proficient NESA Teacher Accreditation
  • First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis, and CPR
  • ID&R response to children and young people at risk of significant harm
  • Current NSW driver license and use of comprehensively insured, registered motor vehicle
  • A valid NSW Working with Children Check clearance number

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrated 5 years' teaching experience in a leadership role in an Early Childhood setting
  • Willingness to respect and uphold the ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of the Employer
  • Understanding of contemporary early childhood pedagogies and their promotion within a curriculum plan and ongoing cycle of critical reflection to improve educational outcomes for all children
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of relevant Child Protection Law matters applicable to the jurisdiction and proactive response to child protection matters
  • High level written, oral, and presentation skills
