About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Alfa Laval. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Decanter centrifuge machines, primarily in the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Servicing and commissioning of Decanter centrifuge machines in mining applications
  • Implementing and driving field and lab testing with Decanter centrifuge machines
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, manuals, exploded diagrams, and P&ID drawings, process flow diagrams
  • Compiling technical service reports
  • Servicing of high-speed separators used in other applications
  • Working to a high level of Health & Safety, compiling and working to JSEA's, SWMS, permit to work, Take 5, etc.
  • Participating in a pioneering team developing new applications via trials
  • Ensuring equipment runs reliably with happy customers
  • Working on diverse customer sites, equipment, and application types
  • Combining regional and interstate work with paid overtime and weekend/public holiday work

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of mining processes
  • Mechanical fundamentals
  • Experience with Decanter centrifuge machines
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in mining or similar industry
  • PLC control systems experience (Siemens, Allen & Bradly, B&R, DCC, EPC 50/60) highly advantageous
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience highly advantageous (but not essential)
  • Australian connect/disconnect license
  • Full Australian driving license
  • Strong English written and communication skills
  • Strong digital skills (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes)
  • Able to pass Mining industry medical requirement
  • Hold an Industry white card
  • Hold a forklift license (preferable, not essential)
  • Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship
