Emergency Care Nurse Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Care Nurse to join our team in Southport. As an integral member of our urgent care service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in an emerging healthcare model, where you will be responsible for identifying patients who require immediate attention, triaging them promptly, and providing high-quality front-line care in collaboration with medical practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage all patients presenting to the Urgent Care Service, using your exceptional critical thinking skills to identify those requiring emergency escalation or deterioration.
  • Conduct comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments, acting promptly to address any health concerns.
  • Perform various procedures, including suturing and plastering, while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in the dynamic urgent care environment.
  • Collaborate closely with patients, families, carers, and medical practitioners to deliver person-centered care, ensuring patients achieve their desired clinical outcomes.
  • Provide essential health education to patients, promoting their understanding of their health needs.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and efficiently, maintaining precise records of patient interactions.
Requirements
  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Previous experience in triage within an emergency department, remote nursing, or ICU is highly valued, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in acute care settings.
