About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, General Accounting to join our team at ResMed Inc. This is a 12-month maternity leave contract, and the successful candidate will report to the Vice President, Finance, Supply Chain and Treasury.

The Senior Manager, General Accounting will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of accounting and financial operations, including financial transactions, processes, systems, and procedures. This will involve leading and developing a team of finance professionals based in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all monthly, quarterly, and annual external reporting and financial regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely closure of all internal Supply Chain month end close activities related to the general ledger, cash management, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and accounts receivable.
  • Identify and assist in the implementation of projects towards improvements, standardization, and operating excellence in financial processes.
  • Provide training and education of finance processes to various Supply Chain Operations teams.
  • Continuously train, support, and develop a team of finance professionals.
  • Deliver ad-hoc requests for information, analysis, and reporting from various internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate accounting matters in a simple manner to non-accounting professionals.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience with preparing consolidated IFRS financial statements.
  • Ability to appropriately prioritize and execute tasks to ensure timelines are met.
  • Prior experience with Oracle or strong aptitude with systems.
  • A high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new software and tools.
  • Requires a minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Requires a current CA/CPA certification.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
  • Able to problem-solve and work independently.
