About the Role:

Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Hervey Bay. This temporary full-time apprenticeship (4 years) offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in maintaining and constructing critical assets, such as Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, pump stations, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop key mechanical skills in maintaining and constructing Council's critical assets.
  • Work towards a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade).
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals to become a fully qualified tradesperson.

Requirements:

  • Completion of year 10 (or equivalent) with passing grades.
  • White Card or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
  • Current Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus immunisations or the ability to readily acquire.
  • Basic computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to undertake manual work and work in unpleasant conditions.
