Job Opportunity: Urban Planner

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Urban Planner to join our team. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for assessing development applications, drafting and reviewing local planning policies, evaluating Local Planning Scheme amendments, conducting land use planning research, coordinating responses to State planning initiatives, providing advice to the public and developers, and representing Council in meetings and inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess development applications for heritage places
  • Draft and review local planning policies
  • Evaluate Local Planning Scheme amendments
  • Conduct land use planning research
  • Coordinate responses to State planning initiatives
  • Provide advice to the public and developers
  • Represent Council in meetings and inquiries
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Urban or Town Planning
  • Experience in statutory or strategic planning
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Clear and confident communication style
  • Knowledge of planning legislation and processes
  • Ability to collaborate and influence respectfully
