About the Role

This position is part of the Property Management Unit at Townsville City Council, where you will provide expert technical advice on facilities management and project management services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the operational maintenance of Council's buildings and facilities is managed and completed within operational targets and budget.

You will contribute to the development of the current year's works programs and budgets to achieve strategic plans and support the activities of property stakeholders.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with:

  • Knowledge of project management and construction management processes and procedures associated with building management, construction, and/or maintenance work, including building systems, e.g., HVAC.
  • Substantial experience in building and facilities management across the asset life cycle, including maintenance strategy and delivery, procurement, contractor performance, analysis of condition and risks, stakeholder management, and resolution of issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building standards and legislations.
  • High-level facilities management skills, including preliminary investigations, interpreting drawings, concept design management, financial management, quantifying, analyzing rates and cost estimating, condition assessments, and experience in the management and delivery of a range of minor and medium-scale facilities works and projects.
  • Tertiary qualification in Property, Assets, and Facilities Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, or Building Engineering, or related disciplines, or extensive construction and maintenance management experience.
  • Current 'C' class driver's license.
