About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Seasonal Casual Forklift Driver & Parcel Sorter. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient processing and delivery of mail and parcels across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to load and unload mail from mail bags, trays, containers, and metal cages (Unit Loading Devices)
- Sort parcels and mail using scanners, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Work across sophisticated processing equipment and lines, ensuring seamless operations
- Operate and use load shifting equipment such as hand pallet devices and stackers, collaborating with operations staff to get mail into the facility
- Work day shift (8am - 3.51pm) or night shift (11pm - 6.51pm or 2am - 9.51am)
About You
- You are available to work from October, through our peak period
- You hold a valid LF Forklift License
- You enjoy a physical role, can lift up to 16kgs of mail and parcels regularly, have a great memory, and attention to detail
- You are safety-conscious and able to safely operate equipment such as conveyors, loading/lifting devices, including pallet jacks to load and unload parcels from trucks and vans
- You enjoy a fast-paced environment where compliance checks are required
- You are comfortable handling parcels that may contain meat and/or alcohol products
What We Offer
- You will be allocated a regular shift time, and work with a great bunch of people
- A higher rate of pay may apply for applicable shift times (penalty rates)
- You will benefit from a 12% superannuation rate
- We may have opportunities for ongoing work beyond the peak season
