About the Role:

Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Onboard Specialist to join our team. As an Onboard Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Command for Hauling equipment and system is working at its optimum performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage machine and system integration to optimize performance
  • Identify and troubleshoot field issues, track progress, and analyze data to improve system accuracy and integrity
  • Collaborate with Product Support teams to develop plans for system enhancements and upgrades
  • Report on the working status of hardware and software of the Autonomous system to Engineering Product Support
  • Understand and implement proper procedures in case of critical failures in the system
  • Train and mentor junior team members on system operations and maintenance

Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of mechanical and/or electrical mining trucks
  • Sound knowledge of off-board communications and experience with radios and networks
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering or prior experience developing or testing on-board machine control systems or off-board mine control systems
  • Ability to integrate and maintain complex electronic systems on machines using schematic models
  • Analytical skills to troubleshoot electronic systems and identify root causes
  • Strong desire to assist in hands-on system installations
  • Motivated self-starter capable of working with others to complete tasks on time
