About the Role
This FIFO leadership position involves direct patient care, medical oversight, coordination of referrals and evacuations, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare. As a Senior Medical Officer, you will lead clinical operations of a remote community medical facility in Papua New Guinea. You will be responsible for managing medical emergencies, evacuations, and escalations, as well as collaborating with site management and other health service providers to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead clinical governance and drive improvements in service delivery and patient outcomes.
• Oversee a remote community medical facility to ensure efficient and safe medical care.
• Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and training to medical teams.
• Manage medical emergencies, evacuations, and escalations.
• Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Requirements
• Medical degree and current, unrestricted license to practise.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience, including trauma/emergency, family medicine, and occupational health.
• Leadership experience in a medical setting, including remote or resource-limited environments.
• Ability to work under pressure and provide clinical guidance in complex cases.
• Current CPR/BLS and ALS/ITLS (or equivalent) certifications and willingness to obtain PNG medical registration.
