Range Operator Role

We are seeking an ambitious and skilled Range Operator to join our team at our Defence Base in Victoria.

This position involves working predominately Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work, providing technical advice to management and customers as required.

The ideal candidate will maintain and support Range Training Areas and Ranges, ensuring Red Flags/Red Lights are positioned according to Range Standing Orders and contractor Blue Flags are positioned according to Ventia Site Induction requirements.

The successful applicant will assist the Range Supervisor with HSE Site Inspections and Safety Observations, address customer complaints and provide feedback, prepare Ranges to suit customer needs, and enforce adherence to Range Standing Orders.

Additionally, the Range Operator will undertake cleaning and housekeeping activities within the TAR environment, respond to bush fires within limitations, and manufacture and repair targets as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship eligible for defence clearance
  • Valid Australian drivers' licence and Plant operation licence
  • Ability to use tools including power tools and chain saws
  • Desirable: experience in RTA and/or Land Management
  • Current certificate in First Aid
  • Bush firefighting qualifications
