Job Overview

The role of a Disaster Response and Recovery Specialist involves working collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and implement effective disaster response and recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regional hospitals, emergency services agencies, and other health services to ensure seamless integration of disaster response and recovery efforts.
  • Work closely with local government and non-government organizations to build capacity and ensure access to mental health care for individuals in need.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of 5 years' full-time equivalent post-registration experience and at least 3 years' full-time equivalent experience in the mental health field, along with postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing or a relevant area.
  • Senior Allied Health Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Senior Psychologist, or Clinical Psychologist registered with or eligible for registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers with a minimum of 5 years' full-time equivalent post-graduate experience and at least 3 years' full-time equivalent experience in the mental health field.
