About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Academic Researcher to join our team at The University of Adelaide. This is a full-time, fixed-term position available immediately for a period of 4 years.

The School of Biological Sciences is committed to fostering excellence in research and teaching. As an Academic Researcher, you will contribute to the development of new capabilities and research streams within our dynamic research program.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research in molecular and/or protein biology with a focus on single-celled parasites (e.g., malaria) for survival and virulence.
  • Developing and delivering teaching programs in microbiology/parasitology, zoonotic diseases, and biotechnology at undergraduate levels.
  • Supervising Honours, Masters, and PhD students.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD or equivalent degree in Biological/Biomedical Sciences with a focus on molecular and/or protein biology.
  • Demonstrated research excellence and knowledge in molecular and/or protein biology, including a relevant publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Potential to contribute positively to and/or obtain external funding as a co/lead investigator (for Level A) or demonstrated success in contributing to or obtaining external funding as a co/lead investigator (for Level B).

In addition to your academic qualifications, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
