Logistics Manager Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of product supply from our terminal network to customers. The Logistics Manager works closely with carriers, sales channels, and internal stakeholders to respond to supply issues and ensure cost-effective solutions.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Proactive logistics operations management to ensure the safe delivery of fuel in Australia through relationships with 3PL contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Ensure reliable and optimized delivery of fuel by working collaboratively with midstream terminals and operations teams.
  • Work with contracted carriers and spot logistics providers to meet bp's trucking resource requirements.
  • Implement efficient and cost-effective delivery methods, developing continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Understand customer logistics requirements to enable business growth.
  • Identify and implement commercial opportunities with carriers and the wider midstream team.
  • Monitor and influence carrier performance against agreed KPIs, ensuring contractual requirements are met and driving performance improvements in safety, service, and cost.
  • Act as the first point of contact for 3PL providers regarding incidents and operational issues.
  • Manage operational relationships between 3PL providers and our terminal network.
  • Contribute to logistics strategy development and implementation as an operational expert.
  • Represent the company at industry transport safety forums to share learnings, best practices, and safety improvements.
