Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Community Development Professional to lead our dedicated and energetic team in effective community development initiatives. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in asset-based community development, project management, and disaster preparedness.

The Community Development Manager will be responsible for creating conditions for community-led placemaking, events, and capacity building within the Shire. This includes working in partnership with community groups and government organisations to support their goals.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading teams, developing and implementing programs, and seeking grant funding opportunities. A tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences or a related discipline is desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply asset-based community development strategies to work in partnership with community groups and government organisations.
  • Establish and maintain programs and services to meet identified needs.
  • Seek grant funding opportunities and comply with funding requirements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans.
