We are a reputable commercial litigation team seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our busy practice based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane office. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to gain hands-on technical exposure to the fast-paced world of commercial litigation.

Job Description

The focus of this work is in the insurance and trade credit space, which will involve working closely with our international offices (namely London). You will predominantly be working on Supreme Court litigation in the trade credits space, with the opportunity to work on other insurance litigation such as high value coverage disputes for financial institutions, directors and officers insurance, high value professional indemnity claims, subrogated recoveries on behalf of insurers, and international arbitrations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 years + PQE* from a reputable commercial litigation team
  • Prior trade credits exposure is desirable but any Federal Court litigation experience would be advantageous
  • E-litigation or discovery experience would be highly regarded
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential
  • Methodical and organised approach to file management
  • Ability to manage own time, excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
  • High level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethics
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a genuine desire to further your career at Kennedys
