About the RoleThis exciting opportunity offers a diverse range of experiences across multiple disciplines, including 6 months in Anaesthetics, where you will gain hands-on experience in airway management and procedural skills in a small, dedicated team providing critical care to the region's most unwell patients. You will work closely with an experienced team in a modern operating theatre setting, with opportunities for leadership and procedural skill development.
In Emergency, you will join our team in a mixed regional Emergency Department, treating approximately 36,500 patients annually, including 25% paediatrics. This term provides opportunities for leadership, procedural skill development, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and close support from an experienced team. You will also have the chance to complete your Paediatric logbook and participate in TS4 supervision.
An option for 6 months in Retrieval Medicine is also available, subject to mandatory prerequisites and credentialing. In this role, you will participate in pre-hospital and retrieval medicine, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
About Our HospitalWe are a 79-bed hospital offering a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, neonatal nursery, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics. Our hospital has a strong focus on patient-centred care and community engagement.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must hold MBBS or equivalent qualifications to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 3 supervision. ACEM advanced trainee status is preferred. Current Basic Life Support certification is also required.
