Correctional Officer

About the Role

The Department of Justice is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Correctional Officer to join our team. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners, while also contributing to the safety of the Tasmanian community.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in a fully rotational roster, including day and night shifts, public holidays, and weekends.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with prisoners, staff, and the community.
• Contribute to the delivery of programs and services that support the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Physical fitness, medical suitability, and psychological characteristics appropriate to the duties of a Correctional Officer.
• Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history background check.
